Stage 1. Gathering information about you and your dog
The consultation process begins with detailed questions to build a picture of your dog’s history in order that a correct diagnosis can be made. We need to discover when and why your dog started to behave in the way they do and what motivates them to continue to behave in this manner.
Stage 2. Meeting you and your dog
The second part of the consultation is testing your dog’s behavioural responses (where necessary) to certain stimuli, for example going for a walk with a dog that reacts to other dogs on a lead. Consultations are conducted on a one-to-one basis, which enables dedicated attention to your specific needs.
Once your dog's history and current behaviour have been discussed, Ali will explain the probable cause of the behaviour. We will then work together to develop a training modification programme for your dog and you will be shown how to implement this training and any recommended equipment during the consultation.
Stage 3. Personal Report
Each consultation is followed up with a comprehensive written report including the new behavioural training programmes that you are advised to implement. As well as this, a personal training folder is issued with specific training advice for your dog. The report takes in excess of two hours to complete and is included in the consultation fee. The price also includes e-mail and telephone support and liaison with your veterinary surgeon if required.
